SVOX Dialog Solutions

SVOX Dialog offers developers and providers of speech dialog systems a robust and versatile dialog control solution for creating applications that interact with the user in a natural and “human” way. An interpreting algorithm handles the dialog flow according to a predefined specification, which enables developers to concentrate on the content of each user interaction. Typical applications include service portals, POI search, calendar management and FAQ help systems with target devices being in-dash navigation systems, smartphones and PNDs among others.

SVOX Dialog supports strict state-based dialog design, frame-based dialogs as well as hybrids of both types. Whenever more complex information has to be gathered from the user, the solution provides the means to keep the dialog natural and user-friendly. SVOX Dialog supports all techniques required for a cooperative dialog system, which means, e.g., that the user can “overanswer” or partially correct the system’s utterances, be reminded of items mentioned earlier in the conversation and can always access situation-specific help. The solution uses automatic inference, which results in a much more natural and “human” dialog behavior.

SVOX Dialog calculates the necessary steps, such as query for missing information, proposing recognized input for confirmation, playing a context-sensitive help prompt, keeping track of
dialog history etc. Sophisticated algorithms are used to determine which user interactions are possible as the next step, depending on the dialog history.
